Change really does come from the Inside - out!
You may have seen much about "The Law of Attraction" either on the TV or various internet sites, and the basics of this Universal Law are completely true.
Very simply - human beings are made up of energy and energy attracts likewise energy. You are the sum of all your thoughts and experiences but that doesn't mean you cannot change what your future holds.
Self-esteem has a lot to do with how you see your life. A low self-esteem can make you believe you are victim of circumstances, you don't deserve good things, you never win, you always "go for" abusive partners in your relationships, you never have good luck, and so on and so forth.
Even if you do not yet believe in the power of the law of attraction, let us take a random example and let our imaginations wander.
You don't feel that you had a good childhood. You were always in trouble for one thing or another either with your parents or your teachers. You left school and got a mediocre job, one which you neither enjoy or feel fulfilled by. You have debts. Your life seems a constant round of not getting enough sleep, not having enough hours in the day, not having enough money. There are constant demands on your time and energy and you feel drained. You don't have enough money to buy healthy, fresh food and you certainly don't have the time to muck about in the kitchen being a domestic god or goddess creating healthy food to eat. Why should you when you can buy a ready meal, stick it in the oven and fill the 30 odd minutes it takes to cook doing something far more important, like the ironing, vacuuming or just plain old slobbing on the sofa because you are so knackered.
And so it will carry on.
Your natural spark and vitality have been unceremoniously kicked out of you by others' probably well-meaning intervention, and by this I mean the major people in your young lives. "Be quiet", "Sit still", "Share your toys" "Think of others" "Why can't you be like little Johnny up the road who.... "(insert list of god-like qualities that little Johnny had and you obviously didn't)
There are not many people out there who deliberately set about crushing another's Soul or Spirit. Many "injuries" to our self-esteem and self-worth are done in our childhoods by our very busy and stressed parents and teachers who had their own set of agendas and jobs to fulfill. I am sure if we had any idea the impact our words and deeds have on others we would make a conscious effort to be far more careful... but we are not gods. We are human and we make mistakes!
So back to the imaginary life we have set out above.
We wake up in the morning, unrefreshed and unmotivated. "Another day of..... " (insert negative thought and mind picture of the day ahead)
And stop right there!
How do you think you are going to feel? Vibrant? happy? looking forward to your day?
NO!
Why concentrate on the bad things that could happen? What is it with us humans? Why do we love drama?
Just a very small change from the moment you open your eyes in the morning can have an amazing impact on the rest of the day.
Now let us re-run that scenario
We wake up in the morning unrefreshed and unmotivated. "Another day of..... blah blah" "Hang on a minute!" you can say to yourself... "What else will today hold?"
Now think about some nice things that will happen. Look forward to what you know makes you feel good - even the tiniest thing, and concentrate on that for a minute. Or, think of something funny that happened to you and wallow in that good feeling. It doesn't really matter what good thing it is you think, what matters is that it makes you feel good. Laughing makes us feel good. Chatting with friends can make us feel good (as long as it's not all doom and gloom and how bad your back is today or how your bunions gave you grief in your new shoes) Getting that assignment or project completed paying someone a compliment helping someone out or someone helping you out taking 5 minutes to smell the roses intending to concentrate on the good things and change your thinking patterns all these things can make us feel good.
Nice things, positive things, good things that we think and experience make us feel nice, positive and good - and actually attract more of this into our lives
Bad things, negative things and hurtful things make us feel bad, negative and hurt - and actually attract more of this into our lives
Simple!
So... Health coaching is all about teaching you how to have good health . . in every aspect of your life. Your physical health, your self-esteem, your relationships, your work, your money management, time management . . . your "YOU" management.
Sometimes just small changes are needed to make a very big impact. It doesn't have to cost lots of money, it doesn't have to cost lots of time. What it does cost is awareness. Awareness of ourselves, our thoughts, our deeds and our issues and the intention to change things for the better.
